An attempt to locate a
different location other than Lake Whitney, the choice of a site has just
finalized. Why a different location? The fact of the lake pavilion being too
hot for some and no air conditioning, the complaints about Lake Whitney. The
effort this year was to locate a facility that is reasonable in cost and yet
have air conditioning and other amenities to make the gathering serviceable and
enjoyable.
Texas Senior/Master Volleyball, Inc., has
made arrangements for this annual picnic to be held in the Herman Sons Lodge and
Grounds near Clifton, Texas, in the country on
a gravel road. There are no other buildings or homes nearby. It is not far
from the Lake Whitney site of the last 2 years. Nancy Strader located the site
which is close to where she resides.
There is plenty of room in the facility with a kitchen (stove and refrigerator), dance floor (bring your desired music), tables and chairs, bathrooms, stage, and appears to have plenty of air conditioning. For volleyball activity, there is plenty of space on the grounds to set courts if desired. Yes – YOU may lounge in the facility over night. Bring your own bedding, and/or comfortable chairs and drinks which may include sodas and beers as desired.
