July 10, 2010, a Play Day of volleyball was hosted by Margaret Young in Farmers Branch, Texas, consisting of ten men’s and ten women teams; sixty three-men and sixty-six ladies.  Play started around 8:45a and ended about 5:45p on very good courts.  Round robin play was conducted by both genders.  A round robin type play only was played by the ladies with TexArk a perfect 8 wins with Texas Crewd placing second; and the other bracket the GrapeVine Gunners had a perfect 8 wins, for second place, Alamo Stars won in a head to head match over Jump2Spike.  After the round robin for the men a play off between top two team of each bracket, (Da Makules of San Antonio was second but conceded to make trip home) so the Wolfpack Silver vs Wolfpack Cub; and Yahoos vs Jewett with Cubs and Jewett emerged the winners and the playoff between those two, the Wolfpack Cubs the winner.

It was a fine day of volleyball play, and a delicious BarBQue dinner provided by the host, Mrs Margaret Young.

 

August 14, 2010, a Play Day of volleyball hosted by Donna Mills for the ladies and Ronnie Payne the men in the Waco, Texas, area.  The play consisted of eleven women and nine men teams, a total of sixty-four ladies and sixty men.  The ladies played at the Woodway Recreation Center and the men at the Central United Methodist Church.  A round robin play at both sites with winners of the ladies in the Power Bracket, the Scrappy Cats and in the JustABrackett, the winner was Texas Women Love Volleyball (TWLV).  The men, a nine team play off was played and it was Jewett and Da Makules in the finals with Jewett finishing first.

A first for TSVA, we had a high school boys team from Houston, the Kinkaid High School participate.

 

September 11, 2010, the Play Day was hosted by Marilyn Nolen in a very nice facility in Killeen for the first time.  A total of twenty teams, nine men and eleven women participated, a total of one-hundred-twenty-six players.  A regular round robin was played on four courts.  In the men’s division, the power bracket witnessed the Nemesis of San Antonio going undefeated with Da Makules the runner-up, no playoff.  The media bracket with only four teams played a round robin, then a single elimination with the Wolf Pack Silver taking first and HOT (Heart of Texas) taking 2nd.  The ladies media bracket, after a round of play, Jump2Spike placed first.  The power pool with six teams, very evenly matched finish with 3 teams tied for first, IcePack, Volleymama’s, and Icey Hotz.  No playoffs due to time limits on gym floor.  The Chile Peppers placed second with the three teams tied for first.
